Login hover menu "broken"
Added by Johannes Ferber over 7 years ago
Hi,
after a fresh install using the installation packages on Ubuntu and RHEL (tried both), I’m not able to login using the “Sign in” hover menu on the right side. Funnily enough I can login using the direct URL /account/login. Also the other link on the hover menu (“Create a new account” and “Forgot password” don’t do anything but when I browse the URLs directly the respective pages open just fine.
So this is weird, it seems like an Apache problem to me but I can’t figure it out. Any ideas would be very appreciated. The server is located here: http://35.157.37.34/.
Thanks and keep up the good work!
Johannes

It seems one used to go there and by hovering over it, it would do a drop down. But now it doesn’t.
It is also true when you go to “Projects” in the top bar. It used to do a drop down when you moused over it, but not any more. Same for going to your user icon in the upper right (and help…). These used to do drop downs, but we’re not seeing them anymore.
Thanks,
-Jeff
I’m having the same behaviour as Johannes and Jeff described above. The login/landing page behaves very strange. After a few tries i managed to login. The Project Button in the header shows no projects. At this point i decided to go back to 6.1.3
I updated OpenProject via apt from 6.1.3 to 6.1.4 (Debian 8 / Apache 2.4) and reverted back to 6.1.3.

This is reported in #24587 which looks like an issue with JS. I had similiar issue in the past (6.0) so that’s why my self-hosted instance has a direct login link embedded in the welcome message ;-)
Hopefully this will get fixed soon, because it doesn’t look neat compared with the recent “Upgrade to Enterprise” widget glued to the home page…
Hi guys,
So it seems the 6.1.4 package released on friday was botched, sorry about that. :-/
I do not yet have the full picture, but it appears that our deployment server started merging in the dev branch into the openproject-ce release branch, causing a faulty release once we released the core version on friday.
The actual JS error is a missing dependency that is caused by a file requiring it, while it not being a declared dependency in the frontend.
I have just pushed a fixed release, it is still building for some distributions, though: https://packager.io/gh/opf/openproject-ce/build_runs/279#84887
The botched release:
6.1.4-1484910650.042dc54
The fixed release:
6.1.4-1485121203.2cb8b63
If you have upgraded, please note that some migrations may have run due to the branch mixup. You should be able to safely ignore them without harming your future upgrade path. If you experience issues, please drop me a mail and I’ll try to get that sorted out.
Best,
Oliver
Oliver,
Great! This fixed it.
Updating the package on Debian Jessie fixed the problem.
Thanks for fixing this!

Hi Jeff, thanks for reporting back.
This shouldn’t have happened, we’ll be looking into why the community edition release process caught picked the wrong branch.
Best,
Oliver
Resolved for me also. The Enterprise widget is gone for some reason. Although all this made a royal mess in my code (I use OP from source on a custom nginx/passenger stack) so I had to install from scratch…
Hi Bartłomiej,
sorry to hear. A manually cloned installation may receive conflicts so its best to
git reset --hard origin/stable/6
while maintaining your local modifications (configuration, database.yml etc.) in a separate folder to mix them in when upgrading.Best,
Oliver
Yes, the update fixed it for me, too! Thanks so much for the quick responses and the fix - very impressive!!

I’ve made the update to 6.1.4. Worked for me, too. Thanks
